FACING UP TO AIDS IN VIETNAM

1.Availability of cheap medicine is a concern for all countries to combat AIDS.

2.Vietnam has undertaken implementation of comprehensive laws for tackling AIDS.

IRAQ AIDS CRISIS

1.The Iraq is undergoing a great upheveal and proper guidance at international level is required to ensure that the war savaged country is able to return to normalacy.

WHAT ALL ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED AT WHICH LEVELS TO COMBAT AIDS?

1.It is recommended that the following actions be undertaken at these levels to ensure combating AIDS at initial levels only:

(a)School:Sex education be imparted with special emphasis for AIDS awareness.
(b)Parents:Impart sexual education in a friendly environment.
(C)Government:Spread awareness by literature,campaigns,movies.
(d)Doctors:Ensure proper autoclaving of equipment and undertake precautions for direct contact with infected liquids.
(e)Para medical staff:Precautions as advised above.
(f)Hospitals:Treat patient with compassion.
(g)Army:Leave to soldiers at correct time.
(h)Prostitutes/Sex workers:Availability of free condoms with them and their education.
(I)Society:Do not isolate the patient that he commits suicide.
(J)Blood Banks:Proper checking of blood meant for transfusion.

2.Action at all levels will ensure nipping the evil disease in bud only.
