1. The modes by which HIV infection is transmitted have been mentioned in the under mentioned posts . However it is equally important that paramedical workers should understand the various methods by which HIV is not transmitted so that they can undertake proper health education and allay misconception to the clientele's. HIV is not transmitted by the following modes:
(a) Shaking hands
(b) Sharing of clothes
(c) Sharing of food and utensils
(d) sharing of toilets
(e) by bites of insects
(f) by hugging or kissing
(g) by working in the same office or travelling in the same vehicle.
(h) by playing or swimming with the infected person .
(i) by coughing , sneezing or in routine patient care activities (bed making , feeding ,etc).
