INDIA SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH IAVI FOR AIDS VACCINE

1.India has now joined hands with a global initiative to find an AIDS vaccine.

2.The Biotechnology department of the India's Ministry of Science & Technology and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative signed an agreement to address a major obstacle in the development of a vaccine.

3.This new programme will comprise top Indian and US scientists who will accelerate the pace of the discovery and develop creative concepts for the next generation of AIDS vaccines.

4.IAVI has successfully conducted two phase-I clinical trials in India. Through this new agreement, they hope to tap some of the best minds in biotechnology.
