1. AIDS is due to a virus called Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)that attacks an individual's immune system and thus a individual is defenseless against diseases and infections.
2. AIDS is an acronymn for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.
3. HIV can be transmitted through all forms of unprotected sexual intercourse like vaginal, anal or oral sex .
4. One should use latex condom to protect against virus.
5. Avoid sharing needles or syringes with someone who is infected with HIV.
6. Remember that HIV can be in the body for 10 years or more before it shows its real colours.
