1. Instruments should be washed with soap and water , wearing gloves .
2. All equipment that can withstand heat should be autoclaved.
3. Thermometers should be scrubbed with soap and water after use. They should then be disinfected with absolute alcohol, 2% glutaraldehyde or other disinfectant.
4. Bronchoscopes, gastro scopes and other lensed equipment should be sterilized with ethylene oxide or 2% glutaraldehyde for 45 minutes and then should be rinsed with water.
